Egg donation and surrogacy in Greece

Egg donation and surrogacy is legal in Greece. However, only heterosexual couples and single women can do this. Furthermore, it must be proven that the intended mother cannot carry children herself.

Egg donation and surrogacy are altruistic in Greece. Furthermore, egg donation is anonymous. The PGD procedure is legal in Greece.

Only expense allowances may be paid.  Before an embryo transfer is carried out, the planned surrogacy must be recorded in Court.

Paternity is recognized after the birth, but the intended mother must adopt the child.

Overall, it should be noted that it can take a long time for intended parents to find a Greek surrogate. The time it takes to find a surrogate in Greece can be similar to that in Canada.
